This modern-style cloth doll is perfect for play.  If you add lots of detail and accessories, she can also take pride of place in your toy display. Muffin doll sewing pattern is the perfect project to upcycle used clothing and jewelry. You only need a little bit of fabric so she’s ideal for making a memory doll and using up scraps from your sewing basket.

Printed Pattern

This is the printed version of the pattern. A printed doll pattern is a great choice because you will receive the pattern templates ready to cut out and printed instructions that you can refer to on your worktable as you sew. Once you have paid for your order, we will ship the pattern sheets and instructions to your delivery address.

What Fabric is Suitable to Make this Doll?

We made our Muffin doll using cream upholstery velvet. You can also use sturdy cotton fabric, or knit fabric provided that it doesn’t have too much stretch. Use cotton fabric or vintage clothing scraps and lace for her outfit.

Full Supplies List:

• Fabric – 1/4m upholstery velvet or cotton fabric to make the doll
• Eyes – 6mm or 7mm glass eyes
• Mouth – black embroidery thread no 5
• Hair – knitting wool or similar yarn
• Ribbon – 50cm for the hair bow
• Cosmetic blusher for the cheeks and toes
• Fabric – oddment of pretty cotton fabric for the dress
• Fastener – a button or press stud for the dress

Sewing Tools and General Supplies:

In addition to the items in the supplies list above, you will need fiber fill stuffing, sewing thread, and possibly some glass beads or plastic beads to weight the doll.

Have the following tools on hand:

• Fabric marking pen to mark out the pattern pieces on the fabric
• Small sharp scissors for cutting out
• Hand sewing needles
• A long doll needle to insert the eyes
• A hemostat or stuffing tool
• Sewing thread to match the fabric

Hand Sewing or Sewing Machine?

Doll seams are smoother and sturdier when sewn on a sewing machine but you can make the entire doll by hand if you prefer. Some parts of the doll and her clothing require hand-stitching.
