This is the printed version of the pattern. A printed doll pattern is a great choice because you will receive the pattern templates ready to cut out and printed instructions that you can refer to on your worktable as you sew. Once you have paid for your order, we will ship the pattern sheets and instructions to your delivery address.

What Fabric is Suitable to Make this Doll?

We made our Sally Sue doll using calico. Use cotton fabric or vintage clothing scraps and lace for her outfit.

Full Supplies List:

Fabric – 1/4m calico fabric to make the doll and apron
Eyes – 8mm glass or plastic eyes, or buttons
Hair – knitting wool or similar yarn
25cm x 25cm black felt to make the shoes
Cord for shoe laces
Ribbon – 50cm for the hair bow
Embroidery cotton for the face
Cosmetic blusher for the cheeks
Fabric – oddment of pretty cotton fabric for the dress and hat
Oddment of calico for the panties
Oddment of calico for the apron
Elastic for the hat an panties

Sewing Tools and General Supplies:

In addition to the items in the supplies list above, you will need fiber fill stuffing, sewing thread, and possibly some glass beads or plastic beads to weight the doll.

Have the following tools on hand:

Fabric marking pen to mark out the pattern pieces on the fabric
Small sharp scissors for cutting out
Hand sewing needles
A long doll needle to insert the eyes
A hemostat or stuffing tool
Sewing thread to match the fabric

Hand Sewing or Sewing Machine?

Doll seams are smoother and sturdier when sewn on a sewing machine but you can make the entire doll by hand if you prefer. Some parts of the doll and her clothing require hand-stitching.
