Sue Linda is a 50cm (20 inches) cloth bunny wearing a dress and knickers. Ideal to make using calico, this is an easy pattern but packed with charm and possibilities to accessorise to make her a truly individual creation. If you like making rag dolls for play or decoration, this pattern is a must to add to your collection.
Printed Pattern
This is a Sue Linda Cloth Bunny printed pattern. A printed teddy bear pattern is a great choice because you will receive the full-size pattern templates ready to cut out and printed instructions that you can refer to on your worktable as you sew. Once you have paid for your order, we will ship the pattern sheets and instructions to your delivery address.
What Fabric is Suitable to Make this Bear?
We made our Sue Linda bunny soft toy using calico fabric. She will also look good in mohair or synthetic fur, and you could even use corduroy, denim, or cotton fabric to make her. For the dress and panties, cotton fabric works best.
Supplies List for Sue Linda:
- Fabric – 35cm x 90cm heavy weight calico
- Eyes – 12mm
- Nose Thread – black or coloured embroidery thread no 5
- Optional: an oddment of fur fabric to make the hair
- Use fabric from the dress to make the ear linings
- Powder cosmetic blusher for the cheeks and nose
For the Clothes:
- 25cm x 120cm light weight calico (for apron, panties, and dress sleeves)
- 12cm x 120cm cotton fabric for the dress
- Elastic for the panties
- 1 Button as ornament
- 3 Snap fasteners
- 50cm of narrow ribbon
Sewing Tools and General Supplies:
In addition to the teddy bear pattern and the items in the supplies lists above, you will need fiber fill stuffing, sewing thread, and possibly some glass beads or lead shot to weight the bunny.
Have the following tools on hand:
- Fabric marking pen to mark out the pattern pieces on the fabric
- Small sharp scissors for cutting out
- Hand sewing needles
- A long doll needle to insert the eyes
- A hemostat or stuffing tool
Hand Sewing or Sewing Machine?
We prefer to sew our bears entirely by hand. You can save time by sewing the seams using a sewing machine. However, you will still need to do some hand-finishing.
